Kickstarting June

Hi, everyone– Can you believe it is already almost JUNE and summertime?! I, for one, can hardly believe it. This is an extremely busy and exciting month for all of the ladies of the Miss America Organization, with many of the state level competitions occurring throughout the month. Miss Illinois week is coming up at the end of the month, and I couldn’t be more thrilled!

To begin this busy month, I will be performing and participating in 3 wonderful events on June 1st, 2nd, and 3rd:

• Friday, June 1st: Recital at Mather’s: More Than A Cafe in the Dinner Theatre at 4:30 PM. Marisa Buchheit presents “Songs of Warmth: A Summer Concert” $10 for dinner, $8 suggested donation for entertainment.   Location: 7134 W. Higgins, Chicago, IL 60656. • Saturday, June 2nd: The first ever Chicago Veggie Pride Parade. I will be leading the parade as Grand Marshall along with Miss Windy City, Miss Chicago’s Teen, and Miss Chicago’s Preteen. I am also on the Panel of Speakersfollowing the parade and will be performing several original songs for the crowd.   Location: Downtown Chicago – Grant Park starting at 12 noon
  

 

• Sunday, June 3rd: Featured guest and Grand Finale model for “Passion Meets Fashion” event hosted by J’Adore and Scene Chicago.
  

 

Miss Illinois Week! Miss Illinois takes place on June 27th-30th this year at the Marion Cultural and Civic Center in Marion, Illinois, with finals on June 30th. Tickets can be purchased here: http://marionccc.org/calendar.html

One more very exciting announcement…

The American Chamber Opera Company has reached its Kickstarter goal of raising $15,000 in one month!!! Kickstarter.com will be doubling this amount, so our company now has $30,000 for our performance season and outreach program. Our ACO Stars Concert was a huge success, and we are so thankful to all of our supporters, sponsors, and fans!
